Traditional Mageu (also known as maHewu, amaRhewu, amaHewu or Uji) is a popular African energy drink and is a sour, fermented liquid.

Doulos Foods developed Supa Vuma Mageu, an instant, energy health shake that tastes like the traditional Mageu. It can be taken with medication, and prevents vomiting in people taking ARV’s. It can also be eaten as porridge.

Supa Vuma Mageu consists mainly of precooked maize and brown sugar fortified with vitamins and minerals.
